The Annual Eco Show

Media Relations

The Eco Show is an annual trade show held at The Empire State Plaza Concourse where environmentally-minded businesses and exhibitors showcase their products and efforts to help people live a greener life. The show, hosted by New Horizon Productions, Ltd. in Schenectady, is free and open to the public. People can learn about energy conservation, recycling, global climate change, pollution prevention, sustainability and more.

Baker PR was contacted ten days prior to the event and asked to assist with media relations to increase awareness about the two-day show. Baker PR jumped into action and delivered exceptional results quickly. In addition to writing a media advisory and press release, Baker PR coordinated several interviews with the local media including WNYT, Capital News 9, WTEN, FOX23 News and the Times Union. Also, the Baker PR team leveraged its contacts to help secure guest speaker, Dr. Pradeep Haldar (recipient of UAlbany Award for Excellence in Research) from The University at Albany's College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering.

Today, Baker PR continues to handle media relations for Eco Show chairman, Pete Muscanelli. Muscanelli has made a career out of helping people save green by thinking green. In addition to organizing The Annual Eco Show, Pete runs a number of local businesses including Waste Management and Recycling Products, The Eco Radio Network and New Horizon Productions, Ltd. Recently, Baker PR helped produce for broadcast syndication a series of Eco-tips called "Green Up with Pete," that offer simple solutions to a more sustainable lifestyle. Baker PR also helped promote a six week long electronics recycling program leading up to Earth Day. Coverage included the Daily Gazette, Times Union, FOX23 News, Capital News 9 and WTEN.
