Mohawk Auto Group, family-owned and operated by the Haraden Family, has been serving the Capital Region community for more than 100 years. With two dealerships, Mohawk Honda and Mohawk Chevrolet, and an auto repair facility, Mohawk Collision Center, Mohawk Auto Group is planning for future expansion. As PR Agency of Record, Baker Public Relations has been working with Mohawk Auto Group for more than 6-years to bring attention to the good the owners and company do in the community and to elevate overall brand awareness.  

Our services on behalf of the company include media relations, event management, crisis communications and marketing. Baker Public Relations’ efforts throughout our partnership have included a “100 Years of Giving Back” PR campaign, launched in late 2018, which kicked off on Giving Tuesday – the Tuesday after Thanksgiving – to celebrate the company’s history of community involvement, outstanding customer service and success as a third-generation dealership and milestone anniversary. Mohawk Auto Group committed $100,000 total throughout 2019 to local nonprofits, donating gifts of $10,000 each to 10 charitable organizations. With the help of Baker Public Relations’ media outreach efforts, the announcement at the press event drew significant print, radio and television coverage, and even greater social media activity. Representatives from all 10 recipient organizations attended the event. More than 75 people, including invited dignitaries, were in attendance. The first check presentation to the Autism Society of the Greater Capital Region at the organization’s annual gala was livestreamed on Facebook and remains preserved on the Mohawk Honda Facebook feed. The video drew more than 30,000 views in three short weeks. Our team helped Mohawk Auto Group establish the Haraden Family Foundation, launching the first ever annual golf tournament in 2019, which continues to grow year-after-year.  

Baker Public Relations’ engagement with Mohawk Auto Group continues today with the planning and execution of many on-site community and charitable events, donation drives and volunteer initiatives. Our team has been instrumental too in assisting the dealerships with internal and external communications throughout the pandemic. We value Mohawk Auto Group’s partnership and are treated as if we’re an extension of their team and family.
