Inside Production of InfluenceHER

Have you noticed a change with our InfluenceHER episodes? That is because InfluenceHER has turned virtual! Rather than stopping production due to the pandemic, we decided to roll with the changes.

In case you don’t know, InfluenceHER is a video podcast produced by the Baker Public Relations teamIf you haven’t heard of it, you’re missing out! You can watch previous episodes here

Baker Public Relations President & CEO Megan Baker sits down for candid conversations with some of the most notable women in Albany and Pittsburgh to hear stories of how they made it to where they are today professionally and personally.

She has interviewed women within the beauty and spa industry — such as Denise Dubois of Complexions Spa — and women leading the way in the nonprofit world — such as Kim Siciliano with the YWCA of Northeastern New York, and many others. We also can’t forget Dorinda Medley of The Real Housewives of New York City.

Transitioning to virtual

Our set looks a little different than it did pre-pandemic when we used to host the guests in-house at the Baker PR officesTake a look at this beforeandafter comparison of our setup.

As you can see, our equipment now consists of a tripod, a camera and lighting in front of the table that Megan utilizes for her laptop and notes.

Our team prepares by researching the guests and compiling a list of questions. The list includes a series of in-depth questions and 13 rapidfire questions that we call the Baker’s Dozen — which are more personal, candid and fun.

Then, its time to rock and roll. The full interview is recorded in one take and edited for length, mishaps and to include graphics.
